Almost an olive grove

If you wouldn't know better, or look closely, it looks like a nice little olive grove, right in the middle of Jaffa. It grew there, in one day.
The trees may well have been stolen from the territories, the main source of Israel's adult olive trees.
They were planted by the municipality over night, where last week the foundations for the new Al Adassi home were laid by the Jaffa community. A few bulldozers, some trees and we have an instant "park". They even placed two guards, to guard the trees. They tried to tell us to leave, When we insisted on staying, saying it's a public place after all, they gave up after having contacted their supervisors or commanders or whatever.
Tomorrow we'll show the municipality we are NOT giving up the struggle. Be there at 12.00, at the corner of Ehrlich and Yefet Street. Be there!

I dont think the municipality intends to use this place as a park, if, they would have removed all the rocks and put some shape to this moon- landscape.
Every tree must be intended to form a kind of Czech Hedgehog to prevent you
from doing more harm.

Quite obviously they do not intend to use it as a park, they planned a road in that particular area.
The trees simply make it more difficult to construct and alternative home for the Al Adassis

what sources do you have for the olive tree theft accusations..

Lirun, the story is not about stolen olive trees, Yudit wrote "may well have been stolen", in my eyes no accusation, also being the owner of the blog she can do whatever she likes.
I personally rather look at a few stolen olive trees than at this silly picture you planted next to your comment.
Does your mother know you blog on Sabbath?

There are to begin with, very few legitimate sources for adult olive trees, as people tend not to sell them.
There are a great many illegitimate sources for those trees however, as many have been and are being uprooted by the settlers and sometimes the army in the occupied West Bank. This has been admitted by such sources as the Israeli courts (recently), the ministry of defence,in some cases the IDF spokes person as well as documented by Bezelem and other human rights organizations.
I do not know exactly where those particular trees come from, however there is a fair chance they were originally robbed in the occupied territories, then sold to one of those garden businesses in the Sharon area who specialize in that kind of stuff.
There simply are VERY FEW legitimate adult olive trees on the market.

I find it extremely hard in our mutual discussions about the ups and downs of Israel, to take someone serious who puts a picture like yours next your comments, what is for example wrong with a picture of a decent olive tree.
Another thing which most people do when writing to others is the use of a capital at the start of each sentence, it is called etiquette.
Yudit is an open minded free person, if my comments lighten up the discussion, or not, is up to her.
You by the way lack any sense of good humor.
